Product Summary
If you've ever tried to mount a flat screen TV in a corner you probably already know that a conventional two stud TV wall mount is usually too wide. Finding two adjacent studs in just the right position can be next to impossible. An easier alternative is the Sanus VM400B single stud articulating wall mount.

Don't let the picture fool you. This thing weighs in at over 22lbs, and is made of a combination of die cast aluminum and heavy-gauge steel. It is a slab of a mount that inspires confidence for start to finish.

Most single stud mounts are designed for PC monitors and smaller TVs. This is because the single arm design frequently suffers from alignment issues. The weight of the TV distorts the arm assembly causing the TV to lean on one side or the other, especially when in the extended position. The VM400B's innovative arch shaped arm shifts the TV's center of gravity thereby reducing the stress on the arm. The end result is that the VM400B can accommodate from 26" to 42" screen sizes and loads up to 80lbs without sagging.

The front plate of the mount (the part that attaches to the back of the TV) can support up to 200x200 VESA hole patterns. For larger sizes Sanus include two small side plates that can be bolted onto the front plate. This increases the VESA compatibility to 400x300. As always, double check your TV's mount hole pattern before ordering.

The main arm assembly attaches to the wall by means of a steel back plate. Since the entire weight of the TV and arm rest on this plate it is vital that it be securely fastened to the wall. Included in the box are three large lag bolts for this purpose. Once you have the TV attached to the arm you simply lift and hang the whole assembly onto the back plate. The is a small locking screw on the bottom to keep the arm in place.

When selecting the install location remember that the center line of the stud is not the center line of the TV. If you are trying to position the TV to an exact spot on the wall you will need to allow 3.5 inches one side or the other for the wall stud center line. (The arm has a single elbow that can be made to break either left or right by means on a small plate that screws to either side of the joint).

If you have everything plumb and tight the TV should be level throughout the full range of extension. In the event you are off slightly the mount has a small roll adjustment of +/-6 degrees. A allen wrench is included in the installation kit for this purpose.

Cable management consists of a collection of zip ties and clips that snap into the bracket. For simple setups it's OK, but it can get a bit unwieldy especially if you have a lot of connections. Make sure your cables are long enough to allow the arm to extend fully without straining.

The VM400B has a profile of 3.5", but if you want a true "no-profile" look check out the Sanus LR1A recessed in-wall box. It allows all the mounting hardware to be concealed making the TV flush against the wall.

The Sanus VM400B is the perfect TV wall mount for those tricky corner locations. It's solid as a rock, a snap to install and comes with all the right moves.
