Product Summary
The VideoSecu MP501B offers the DIY home enthusiast a solid TV wall mount that comes with a generous 20° of forward tilt, large mix of mounting hardware and a free 7ft HDMI cable. You could easily pay more for just the cable, so this is not a bad deal.

The mount consists of single piece pressed steel backplate that attaches to the wall. Two vertical brackets screw to the back of your TV and hook onto the backplate by means of an upper and lower rail that run the full length of the plate. For safety, two screws located at the bottom of each bracket keep the TV securely attached to the backplate.

At 30" wide, the backplate provides a lot of lateral adjustment for those situations when the wall studs are off-center (most residential wall studs are spaced at 16" intervals). If room symmetry is important to you this feature can be very helpful. One word of caution: Resist the temptation of just screwing the backplate to the drywall. Drywall alone will not be able to hold the weight of the TV.

To make sure the backplate is level against the wall it comes with a built-in bubble level. Unfortunately, it is very much hit or miss as far as accuracy goes. Use your own, or buy a basic model at the local hardware store. There is no way to adjust the level after the backplate has been mounted, so make sure you get it right the first time.

You can tilt the screen down 20° for a better viewing angle. Two quick release knobs near the top of each bracket can be used to make adjustments. We recommend you try and set the desired angle before you hang the TV as it is awkward to do later. Also, the tilt mechanism causes the TV to lean away from the wall at the top. Some might find this less than aesthetically pleasing.

Depending on the amount of tilt you might find the gap between the back of the TV and the wall to be too narrow for the rear connections. If you don't have enough room, use some of the supplied plastic spacers to position the TV slightly further away from the wall.

If you're planning on using a 37" or smaller screen, carefully measure the case width of the TV before you install this mount. As the wall plate is 30" wide you might find that the mount is not completely hidden behind the TV when viewed from the front.

The VideoSecu MP501B is a quality TV wall mount at a very competitive price. And with the added bonus of a HDMI cable it's a package you wont want to pass up.
