Product Summary
Slim is in, and with a super-skinny profile of just 1.18" the Peerless PF640 is poised to take its place as a trend setter in low-profile TV wall mounts. Frankly, if manufacturers go any further in this 'low-profile' war, TVs will soon be in the wall instead of hanging on it.

Peerless rate the PF640 for screens up to 46", but if you're planning on installing anything over 40" you should be aware of a few issues. With a maximum mount hole pattern of 17" wide and 13" high, many TVs over 40" are not going to fit. To prevent any disappointment check your TV's documentation, or go to the Peerless mount finder before you order.

If your TV has a compatible mount hole pattern, you might then have to contend with the infamous bolt size problem. This occurs when the mounting bolts required for your TV are too wide to fit through the slots on the TV bracket (the part that attaches to the back of your TV). The most common solution is to simply file larger holes. Depending on your DIY skills this may, or may not, be an option.

The PF640 can be mounted on wood or metal studs, concrete or cinder block. Metal studs require the optional Peerless metal stud fastener kit. For stud installations you will need two studs with a maximum spacing of 16". Use a stud finder to check that your wall studs are no wider than this.

Make sure you hook-up all the required connections before you attach the TV to the wall plate. The low profile design leaves very little gap between the wall and TV. Getting the various plugs inserted once the TV is in place can be impossibly difficult. A practical alternative is to use "L" style right angle connectors available at most electronic stores.

The upper and lower rails of the wall plate allow the TV to move side to side to help with centering the TV on the wall. This is a handy feature for off-center studs. The amount of lateral adjustment will depend heavily on the make and model of TV. The narrower the mounting hole patten, the more 'slide' you will have.

Once you have the TV centered you can lock it in position using the two locking screws on the bottom of the TV brackets. Peerless supply a long reach allen wrench for this purpose.

The ultra-slim profile of the Peerless PF640 produces an eye-catching look that will wow any flat panel TV audience while still keeping you within budget.
